I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
